All products are produced without Genetically Modified Organisms. Our products are certified by the local Thai authorities, and we have obtained all relevant documentation. Spunky Food Co., Ltd. works with only non-GMO ingredients.

We like to do things the right way. We don’t use animal fats in our production line. Our options include palm oil, coconut oil and rice bran oil. Of the three, palm oil and rice bran oil are the most efficient. Rice bran oil strains resources least, and it also has excellent cooking properties. Rice Bran Oil is the primary ingredient for our products. If we use palm oil, we will choose the most ethical and sustainable palm oil possible, certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). This means it follows the highest agriculture standards, is fully traceable, and is grown on designated land that will not cause further deforestation.

Unlike many other businesses, we run our own manufacturing facility. Using GHP, HACCP standards, our products are made in Thailand, with a strong connection to local manufacturers, farmers, and their wisdom. We know our business partners and farming communities, and we support regional farmers through direct procurement. This is to ensure all ingredients can be sourced responsibly and locally in Thailand. It is absolutely essential to us that we only work with local suppliers that share the same values and goals as we do. Furthermore, we are proud to source 100% of our ingredients from throughout the Kingdom of Thailand.

Unlike a lot of other businesses, we run our own manufacturing facility. Every product is produced and packed in our GHP, HACCP, Thai FDA and Halal accredited food factory in Phatum Thani (Northern Bangkok). We follow stringent food safety protocols and regularly audits. In addition, our facility is registered with the USFDA.

The word chivi is a short form of chivit, and it can be translated as “life” in Thai.

Yes, chivi products are safe and suitable for children above 4 years of age to include in moderation as part of a balanced diet.

We don’t want to convert anyone and no one needs to make drastic changes and sacrifices. Eating less meat (as our grandparents did 75 years ago) is a great start to tackle the issue. Another driver behind the increasing popularity of vegan orientated diet is that the wider public is becoming more health-conscious. A plant-based (and meat reduced) diet can bring the following benefits:

  • Reduced inflammation
  • Lower risk of Type 2 diabetes
  • Improved kidney function
  • Reduced risk of heart disease
  • Low levels of LDL cholesterol
  • Improved gut health
  • Reduced arthritis pain
  • Lower risk of heart disease

It is not only plant-based food, but also a general approach to a lifestyle that respects nature and conserves our resources in the best possible way.

Consumers of all ages make conscious purchasing choices, and consumers globally become increasingly aware of health and environmental issues that echoes in the food industry.

There is an emergency on planet earth and frankly, if we want to pull it off, we have to change course. We simply need a NEW QUALITY OF GROWTH that embraces sustainable ingredients and materials, as well as a moderate consumption that reduces waste. These are the components of chivi and we want that every product reflects this in its equation of sustainable input and conscious consumption.

Consumers become more aware of three main factors – animal suffering, the environment, and personal health. There is no real discussion about the health benefits of a plant-based focused diet anymore. A vegan focused nutrition plan has been associated with a reduced risk of chronic diseases, including diabetes and heart disease, as well as contributing more minerals, vitamins and fiber. A limited consumption of meat also leads to a reduction of waste and water usage, which can have a positive impact on climate change. A vegan focused diet alone may not solve all the world’s problems, but it is a great start.

All chivi products are produced without Genetic Modified Organisms. Our products are certified by the local Thai authorities, and we have obtained all relevant documentation. Here at chivi, we choose to work with only Non-GMO ingredients.

In a nutshell, Tempeh is just awesome. It is a plant-based protein that originated in Indonesia over 300 years ago, and is made through fermenting soybeans or any other legume. Tempeh is delicious, nutritious and one of the most sustainable foods available on the planet – a superb piece of mother nature packed with micronutrients. It is fair to say that Tempeh enjoys a massive popularity in Indonesia.

Tempeh delivers probiotic compounds and has no cholesterol. Just one-half cup of tempeh has 18 grams of protein, providing all nine essential amino acids. It’s a good source of fiber, iron, calcium, vitamin B and potassium. All Tempeh products are completely processed and produced in an FDA, GMP, HACCP and Halal accredited factory.

Normally, Tempeh has a limited shelf-life and home-made production is difficult for many consumers. Food safety is our priority. Our raw Tempeh and our Crispy Tempeh Topping are entirely processed in our GHP, HACCP and Thai FDA accredited factory to ensure that every step in the production line is monitored and supervised. A Ready-to-Eat Tempeh Topping is the most convenient way for customers to enjoy the superior taste and health benefits of tempeh.

Crispy Tempeh snacks is light, crisp, and it gives pleasure without remorse. Tempeh is one of the most sustainable products on earth, and it carries the pure chivi DNA – a wonderful sustainable product with health benefits in every bite.

It seems that modern society has developed some kind of obsession with protein. The truth is that protein is found in all plants (beans, lentils, nuts, soybean, spinach, broccoli, peas, and grains).

Absolutely no! Meat and poultry are still an open option for anyone. The focus is more on the reduction of meat and the increase of vegetables, legumes, tempeh and mushrooms. The reason is so simple: there are so many delicious options. Enjoy chivi – keep thriving on plants!

The healthiest meat substitute will be vegetarian foods that are natural, high in protein, and minimally processed. There are several options including beans, mushrooms, lentils, jackfruit, and nuts. BUT eating Tempeh is probably THE best thing, just one-half cup of tempeh has 18 grams of protein. In addition, tempeh’s CO2 footprint is small.
